Summary
In addition to Provider Quality Profiles (PQPs), the Department of Health is planning to introduce a range of new tools to help deliver better quality services and to improve the care people receive / experience.
Recognised quality schemes in development, or already in existence such as My Home Life, include the new NICE Social Care Quality Standards and the Dementia Care and Support Compact.
These tools are intended to clarify how quality in care and support may be measured, compared and monitored. The Department of Health is working to define principles, standards, roles and responsibilities for improving the quality of care.
