Care Home Turns Back the Clock on Dementia (BBC News)

A care home is piloting an innovative new scheme to improve the symptoms of their residents affected by dementia. Coombe End Court, a residential care home in Marlborough, has recreated 1950s style rooms to allow residents to tap into memories of their youth.

The activities involved – often termed reminiscence therapy – have a calming and re-assuring effect. Coombe End Court have managed to reduce the use of antipsychotic drugs by 70%.
