Abstract
The 2008 Annual Evidence Update (AEU), produced by NHS Evidence, gives an overview of the most important evidence published during the period Spring 2007 – Summer 2008.
This section of the AEU is aimed at clinicians in primary care or general medicine. It covers:
- Improving the burden on caregivers.
- Driving in dementia.
- Wandering in dementia.
- Interventions to improve mental health and burden in caregivers of patients with dementia.
It is estimated that 63.5% of people with late onset (onset >65 years) dementia live in private households rather than care homes (Dementia UK report 2007).
This AEU has since been updated in 2009 and 2010. (See Dementia: the Latest Evidence Newsletter RWHT Volume 1 Issue 3 October 2010).
