Dementia Metrics (National Dementia Strategy Information Portal)

Summary

A commitment made in the National Dementia Strategy programme has been to develop a framework of dementia-specific quantitative indicators.

These metrics are intended to provide information on the progress that Councils and PCTs have made in relation to priority objectives in the Strategy. The metrics provide a view of progress in relation to four priority objectives:

  1. O2: Good-quality early diagnosis and intervention for all.
  2. O6: Improved community personal support services.
  3. O8: Improved quality of care for people with dementia in general hospitals.
  4. O11: Living well with dementia in care homes.

More information on these measures, and the metrics themselves, can be downloaded from the National Dementia Strategy Information Portal.
