Summary
Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) describes the use of technology such as sensors and communication systems to support older and disabled people who wish to live independent lives.
The AALIANCE (i.e. the European ambient assisted living innovation alliance) project has delivered the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Roadmap which provides a detailed review of the future of AAL application areas, concepts and technologies.
An international workshop on the implementation of assistive technology for people with dementia took place in 2009.
