Summary
People with dementia are at higher risk of depression. Much of the mental health comorbidity which affects older people in general hospitals relates to dementia, depression and delirium.
The main NICE dementia guideline provides guidance on the management of dementia co-morbid with depression. This particular guideline provides further guidance on the treatment and management of depression in adults and older people generally.
