Energise for Excellence (E4E): a Nurse-Led Care Improvement Scheme

Energise for Excellence (E4E) is a call to action for nurses, midwives, health visitors and nursing-related professionals to “take the lead” in ensuring essential nursing care is a given and can be counted on by everyone.

This scheme represents an attempt on the part of the nursing community to seize the initiative after a range of recent reports from various bodies (the CQC, Age UK, the Patients’ Association and Which?) criticising poor standards of nursing care in the NHS, particularly when it comes to care of the elderly. Many nurses and midwives have long been striving for excellence, and improving services for patients, and these people need to tell their stories, share their ideas and inspire their colleagues.

Energise for Excellence is  intended to focus attention on what works well, with the aim of sharing, developing and spreading best practice.
