Making Homes Dementia-Friendly: Short Video (BBC News)

[A version of this item appears in: Dementia: the Latest Evidence Newsletter (RWHT), Volume 2 Issue 10, May 2012].

This BBC News online video presents the results of research by the University of Stirling into how simple – and relatively inexpensive – design changes can help people with dementia stay independent and safe in their homes for longer.

Professor June Andrews from the university’s dementia unit, shows Lorna Gordon how homes can be designed and equipped to help people with dementia. A virtual care home has been created online, to allow people to grasp these ideas easily.
