Summary
The first of four guides in this “Smart guides to engagement” series, of a planned ten guides, have been released. They are guides to the value of patient and public engagement for anyone working in, or with, clinical commissioning groups (CCGs). The guides have been produced with support from the Department of Health. Domain 2 of the CCG authorisation process requires the meaningful engagement with patients, carers and communities.
These guides start with the series introduction (“Get smart about engagement”). The next three guides are concerned with the social and economic benefits of engagement, working with LINks and local HealthWatch, and the roles of lay members and patient representatives on Clinical Commissioning Group boards.
