The Department of Health has published an easy-read version of the Understanding Personal Health Budgets information leaflet. It explains what a personal health budgets are, and provides answers to frequently asked questions, with personal stories and suggested sources of further information.
Everyone receiving NHS Continuing Healthcare will have a right to ask for a personal health budget, including a direct payment for healthcare, from April 2014. This leaflet may be of use for healthcare professionals, commissioners, and support organisations who wish to give the basic facts to people being offered personal health budgets.
