£1.5m Assigned to Personal Health Budgets Launch (Pharma Times Online)


The Department of Health has assigned £1.5m for the national launch personal health budgets for some NHS patients. More than 60 primary care trusts in England are currently involved in the pilot programme studying how personal health budgets might benefit patients, how they will be spent, and their effective implementation.

The Royal College of General Practitioners has advised in favour of a delay, warning of potential problems which should be addressed before a widespread roll-out.
