Safe Staffing on Older People’s Wards (RCN)

Summary

This Royal College of Nursing (RCN) toolkit helps assess nursing staffing levels on older people’s wards, and on wards where the majority of patients are elderly people. The aim is to support reviews of staffing on hospital wards and to help check whether these wards meet recommendations for safe care.

There is also a Safe Staffing for Older People’s Ward Calculator included as an appendix in the toolkit and as a separate document.
