Guide for Local HealthWatch (Mental Health Strategic Partnership)

The Mental Health Strategic Partnership, in partnership with leading UK mental health charities, has produced a series of six briefings aimed at helping develop better local mental health services. These briefings were commissioned by the Department of Health.

The briefings build on the Government’s “No Health Without Mental Health” strategy and clarify how Local Authorities, Commissioning Groups, Directors of Public Health, Overview and Scrutiny Committees, Local Healthwatch, and Health and Wellbeing Boards can improve mental health care, treatment and support.

The Local Healthwatch briefing, entitled “No Health without Mental Health: a guide for Local HealthWatch” clarifies the role of Local HealthWatch in ensuring steps are taken locally to achieve the health strategy’s objectives.
