The Department of Health‘s response to the Francis Inquiry Report is likely to include recommendations that nurses will be required to spend time performing duties such as washing and dressing, in the apprenticeship role of healthcare assistant, before embarking upon their degree training.
There is also likely to be a statutory duty of candour to encourage openness and transparency in the NHS.
