National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care (Department of Health)

Summary

Department of Health guidance on the principles and processes of the national framework for NHS continuing healthcare and NHS funded nursing care has been updated to reflect the new NHS created by the Health and Social Care Act 2012, and which became effective from April 1st 2013. The associated tools to assist decision making have been revised.

“NHS continuing healthcare is an ongoing package of health and social care that is arranged and funded solely by the NHS where an individual is found to have a primary health need”.
