Resources for Falls Awareness Week: June 17th – 21st 2013 (Age UK)

Summary

Falls Awareness Week this year is June 17 – 21st 2013. It will be used to highlight the risk of falls and to offer simple interventions to prevent falls.

Approximately 30% of over 65 year olds fall every year, and this figure increases to 50% in people aged over 80. More details are on the Age UK website.

“Falls Awareness Week is an annual event which aims to highlight things you can do to reduce your risk of falling and the local services available to help you to do this. This year’s Falls Awareness Week will focus on healthy feet. Keeping feet healthy is fundamental to maintaining mobility and independence”.
