Payment by Results: Payment Systems in the NHS (HFMA / Kings Fund)

Summary

The King’s Fund, Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and Monitor held a workshop for finance leaders to debate the NHS payments system. While the benefits of payment by results (PBR) are acknowledged, the system governing payments is said to be in need of reform in terms of being “more flexible, more widely applied and linked more effectively to outcomes”.
