Draft Guidelines Recommend More People to Use Statins (BBC News / NICE)

Summary

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is recommending that more middle-aged people should be given cholesterol-lowering statin drugs to protect them against cardiovascular disease (CVD) and strokes.

Draft guidance recommends offering statins to people with a 10% or greater 10-year risk of developing CVD.
