Mental Health Service Providers on MyNHS Comparison and Transparency Site (NHS Choices / Department of Health / NHS England)

Summary

Coinciding with World Mental Health Day (October 10th 2014) NHS Choices launched a section of easy-to-access ratings for mental health hospitals on MyNHS. Data covers general quality indicators, patient safety, efficiency and hospital food standards.

Everyone can view this quality information for Mental Health Hospitals provided by NHS Trusts, thereby allowing users (and professionals) to compare and assess how well their local services match-up with those of other localities.

Possibly of interest, the Secretary of State for Health spoke about the government’s broader plans for improving mental health.

“ …the information made public today is only a start. We need to know not just trust by trust but commissioner by commissioner both the quality of care provided and the access to that care. We can then start to tackle variation and develop, NHS-wide, a culture of continuous learning and improvement”.
