Summary
This American Hospitals in Pursuit of Excellence (HPOE) / Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) report explores the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s vision of how to promote a “culture of health” and how hospitals in the USA might contribute to community health improvement. The report presents findings of a review of 300 community health needs assessments. Strategies for hospital engagement in public health improvement are discussed, in the US context.
