Guidance on Care Contact Time (NHS England)

Summary

The Chief Nursing Officer for England has issued a guide for providers and commissioners to calculate the amount of “care contact time” required to deliver safe and effective care. This guidance complements pre-existing NQB guidance, NICE guidelines and NICE endorsed safe staffing toolkits. Commissioners and service providers are expected to review the contact time allowed for staff to spend with patients.
