Summary
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the USA has opened a public-private partnership online resource to facilitate neurodegenerative research and drug development. The launch of the Alzheimer’s Big Data Portal provides an open-source “public knowledge portal” for the research community. It is provided by the Accelerating Medicine Partnership for Alzheimer’s Disease (NIA-AMP AD) Target Discovery and Preclinical Validation Project.
“The AMP-AD program is a pre-competitive partnership between government, industry and non-profit foundations focused on the discovery of novel, clinically relevant therapeutic targets and the development of biomarkers to aid the validation of existing therapeutic targets”.
