Summary
The NHS Atlas of Variation, produced by NHS England, NHS Right Care and Public Health England (PHE), compares service performance across over 200 local areas. This latest Atlas includes over 100 maps covering data, at the level of individual Clinical Commissioning Groups or local authorities.
The current Atlas indicates unwarranted variations in early cancer diagnosis and quick treatment for stroke. These regional differences in access to stroke and cancer services (among others) could put some patients at risk of avoidable harm.
