Summary
The Royal College of Physicians (RCP)’s Falls and Fragility Fracture Audit Programme involves a national clinical audit of the care received by patients in hospital. The following annual report summarises findings of the National Audit of Inpatient Falls. Although many trusts and local health boards do have policies covering the main areas of falls prevention there appears often to be little association between the contents of these policies and the care which patients actually receive after hospital admission. Recommendations are supplied.
