Summary
Public Health England (PHE) has published an online Dementia Profile tool which aims to assist commissioners in identifying where variations in services / outcomes exist. Profiles of local data are supplied at Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Local Authority level. These local profiles are suitable for benchmarking local services against other CCGs, local authorities and compared to performance across England generally. The statistics focus on six dementia-related topic areas:
- Prevalence.
- Prevention.
- Diagnosis.
- Post-Diagnostic Support.
- Living Well With Dementia.
- Mortality / End of Life Care.
Specific information, for example, is provided on the number of people with dementia per area and by age, the people with dementia who have received an NHS Health Check, those with depression, emergency hospital admission rates and place of death.
