Increase in Deaths in England and Wales in 2015 Accountable to Dementia and Flu? (BBC News / BMJ / ONS)


Last year’s unexpected increase in the number of deaths, in England and Wales, appears to have resulted from the increase in dementia and respiratory diseases such as influenza among older people.
