Summary
NHS England’s “Accessible Information Standard” has been designed to ensure people with a disability, sensory impairment or sensory loss receive information in a format they can easily read or understand. Support will also be provided to ensure such patients can communicate effectively with the providers of their services.
All organisations providing NHS care or adult social care, including NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts and GP practices, are required to follow this standard.
