The Lancet Commission on Dementia Prevention, Intervention, and Care has produced recommendations for the prevention of dementia, proposing a “life-course model of dementia prevention” incorporating nine modifiable risk factors for reducing the risk of dementia. The commission also offers recommendations about the pharmacological, psychological, and social interventions which are thought to be most effective, in terms of improving outcomes for people with dementia and their families.
