Aim and Scope
The endeavour initially entailed producing regular newsletters, in printed and .pdf formats, to provide staff at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) with news about recent developments, latest research and the whole range of current publications of relevance to Dementia Care.
The scope of this project has evolved and broadened-out to cater for additional audiences and accommodate a broader (more “generic”) subject scope:
- It may be of interest to persons other than medical staff at the New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.
- The subject orientation has broadened out (from an exclusively “publications-driven” research focus) into a more general news service that might be of interest to a wider audience.
Audience
The range of persons who might find this website and blog of interest include:
- Doctors
- Nursing staff
- Therapy services staff
- Service commissioners
- Policy makers.
- Service developers, managers and designers etc.
- Social workers
- Medical students
- Researchers
- Carers.
Background Information
The monthly current awareness bulletin “Dementia: the Latest Evidence” has been in production since July / August 2010. The website and blog “Dementia Care News” (an online adjunct to “Dementia: the Latest Evidence”) came into existence a few months later in November 2010, as a direct result of an initial meeting between the Editor and the Supervising Editor on October 29th 2010.
Who Produces This Service?
The day-to-day Editor of this information service is a Library Assistant employed part-time by the NHS.
Intellectual guidance is supplied by the Supervising Editor; namely Dr Daryl Leung, Clinical Director, Care of the Elderly at New Cross Hospital.
There is a feedback page for general enquiries, suggestions, email newsletter subscription requests etc.
