Freedom of Information (FOI) requests issued by the Press Association (PA) news agency indicate that some hospital trusts in England generate over £3 million per year from car parking fees. Half of the 90 or so trusts responding to these FOI requests were found to take over £1 million per year.

Hospitals in England collected more than £120 million last year; a 5% increase. Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust was the worst, taking £4,841,108 in parking charges across the year.
